Ahal region
Ahal region is one of the fastest growing regions of Turkmenistan. Ashgabat’s industry is an integral part of the development of Ahal province’s productive forces.
The geographical location of the region, its natural resources, the potential of its human resources allow it to develop almost all sectors of the country’s economy in the region.
The economy of the province has an industrial-agrarian character. The main sectors of the electricity, gas and chemical industries, the building materials industry, machinery and metal processing industries, will be developed at a steady pace.
Turkmenistan is considered as one of the world’s archeological treasures. Numerous monuments from the Middle Ages till the Late Middle Ages have been preserved in the provinces of Turkmenistan. One of them is the fortress at Nisa located in the Ahal region which was entered in the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2007.
