A round table dedicated to the 25th anniversary of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan was held in Belgium
In honor of the 25th anniversary of the permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and the proclamation of 2020 "Turkmenistan is the homeland of Neutrality", the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kingdom of Belgium organized in Brussels a round table on the topic "Constructive dialogue for peace and sustainable development."
The round table was attended by the heads and representatives of diplomatic missions in Brussels, the European Institute for Asian Studies, international organizations, including the European Union, structural divisions of the Energy Charter Secretariat.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Kingdom of Belgium, speaking at the beginning of the meeting, informed about the successful implementation of important strategic projects in the field of industry and innovations by Turkmenistan, in accordance with the status of neutrality and the policy of "open doors" of the country. Also, special emphasis was placed on the video message of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly, during which the Head of State put forward significant initiatives of a political, socio-economic and humanitarian nature.
During the meeting, the Secretary General of the Energy Charter U. Rusnak, the EU Special Representative for Central Asia P. Buriyan also made presentations. In their speeches, they noted the priority areas of cooperation with Turkmenistan and congratulated on the 25th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality.
In addition, the meeting participants noted that, within the framework of its neutrality status, Turkmenistan contributes to the coordinated development of peaceful, friendly and mutually beneficial relations between the countries of the region and the whole world by maintaining peace and security in the region.
