An event dedicated to the International Day of Peace was held in the People's Republic of China

On September 21, 2020, in the People's Republic of China in the Museum "Garden of Peace", the Embassy of Turkmenistan and other embassies of about 40 states, the Peace Festival on the theme "Discussions about Peace - Civilization and Health – Youth sphere", dedicated to the International Day of Peace was held.

The event was organized by the China World Peace Fund, the Beijing International Fund for the Culture of Peace and other non-governmental organizations. Dedicated to the protection of world peace, stability and sustainable development, this festival was held under the auspices of the UN and UNESCO.

The forum was attended by over 300 people. Several dozen experts from various parts of China and other countries joined online.

The opening ceremony was attended by the head of the China World Peace Fund Li Ruohong, UNESCO representative Robert Parua, high-ranking representatives of Egypt, Nepal, Pakistan, Ambassadors of Austria, Algeria, Cape Verde, Namibia, Palestine, Pakistan and Turkmenistan.

During their speeches, the speakers called on everyone to the need of reviving the culture of peace, using the potential of 2021, declared as the Year of Peace and Confidence.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan in his speech especially noted the importance of the International Day of Peace and the announcement at the initiative of the President of Turkmenistan the year 2021 as the Year of Peace and Confidence, approved in September last year by the UN General Assembly Resolution.

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan also spoke about the various events held in Turkmenistan dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan, as well as the significance of the relevant UN General Assembly resolutions on the sustainable development of the transport, logistics and energy components of Turkmenistan's international cooperation with other countries of the world.
