Magtymguly-Fraghi poetry day celebrated in Kiev

On June 26, 2020, a ceremony was held in the park in the center of Kiev dedicated to the Day of Workers of Culture and Arts of Turkmenistan, as well as the poetry of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly-Fraghi.

Guests, in particular, representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, deputies of the Verkhovnaya Rada, heads of “Interbudmontazh” and “Altkom” companies, heads of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as representatives of foreign embassies, representatives of the Turkmen Diaspora, living in Kiev, Ukrainian professors and book publishers , students studying in Kiev universities, as well as employees of the Embassy of Turkmenistan laid flowers at the monument to Magtymguly-Fraghi, whose poetry reflects the spirit and national identity of the Turkmen people.

Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Ukraine spoke about the main milestones in the life and work of Magtymguly-Fraghi, his role in the development of Turkmen and world literature, his dream of a free and prosperous Fatherland, a strong and independent Turkmen state. It was noted that this year our country marks the 25th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan, and it is very symbolic year for Turkmenistan under the slogan "Turkmenistan is the homeland of Neutrality."

The author of a book about the poet’s life, Professor N. Vaskiv, who studies the work of Magtymguly-Fraghi and translated several books of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov into Ukrainian, also made a presentation. He excitedly read the poetry of the poet in Ukrainian and described the poetry of Magtymguly in poetic form.

Turkmen students recited poetry of the great poet in the Turkmen and Ukrainian languages ​​at the Magtymguly-Fraghi monument in the center of Kiev, while guests and Turkmen youth who attended the ceremony expressed their sincere feelings of respect and pride.
