The Embassy of Turkmenistan in France organized an international seminar on the latest scientific discoveries in Margiana
On June 25, 2020, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in France, together with the Turkmen-French archaeological mission "MAFTUR" organized an international online seminar on the latest scientific discoveries in ancient Margiana.
The Embassy timed this event to the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Neutrality of our country, as well as the declared this Year as “Turkmenistan - Homeland of Neutrality”.
At the seminar, speakers were officials from Turkmenistan, France, UNESCO, as well as authoritative scientists and archaeologists from Turkmenistan, France, Italy, Great Britain, Russia, Afghanistan, China and Uzbekistan.
Speakers noted that the ancient civilization - Margiana, located along the Murghab River, can be put on a par with such ancient civilizations as Ancient Egypt, China, India and Mesopotamia.
In addition, the meeting participants emphasized the enormous contribution of President of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to the study and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, the continuity of traditions, as well as spiritual and moral values.
It should be noted that the representative of the Louvre Museum Francois Bridey in his speech expressed sincere admiration for those artifacts that were found during excavations of Margiana and Ulug-Depe. He expressed hope that in the coming years the parties will be able to reach an agreement and organize an exhibition at the Louvre Museum with artifacts from Margiana, Gonur-Depe and Ulug-Depe.
