Development of transport and communication sectors of the country is among the priority tasks of Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan is a supporter of the development of transport communications, as well as the introduction of the latest technologies and know-how in the field of communications. This is extensively narrated by a special publication called the Transport and Communications Complex of Turkmenistan, which was published in honor of the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality.

One of the important directions of the national policy of Turkmenistan is the transition to the digital economy. The publication notes that the country has fully introduced various types of communication services, including mobile communications, the Internet, digital television. The presence of a modern information system in the country helps to increase the provision of trade services, electronic document management transmitting information, which improves production efficiency.

It is gratifying that Turkmenistan, launching its first artificial satellite “TürkmenÄlem 52º E” into space, has joined the ranks of states exploring and studying outer space.

The publication also talks about the development of the country's transport sector. Under the leadership of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, railway communications are being improved and the country's airports are being reconstructed, which makes an important contribution to the development of socio-economic relations with the countries of the region. The railway industry plays a great role in providing the domestic market with foreign goods and exporting Turkmen goods abroad.

It is also said that Turkmenistan is included in seven international conventions and agreements on road transport. Residents of the country use high-quality public transport. Modern passenger car terminals are being built in the country. Turkmenistan has signed 18 agreements on car traffic with various countries of the world.

On the instructions of the President, in order to increase the role of cargo transportation by sea, the national projects to create a competitive Turkmen national fleet were fully implemented. The publication reflects the role of the Turkmenbashi International Seaport, located at the junction of freight routes from Europe to Asia.
