A poetry evening was held in the library named after Makhtumkuli in Kiev
On June 24, 2021, in the building of the library named after Makhtumkuli in Kiev, the Embassy of Turkmenistan, together with the Svyatoshinskiy district administration, held a poetry evening entitled "Bird of happiness of Makhtumkuli-Fraghi" dedicated to the Day of workers of culture and art of Turkmenistan, as well as poetry of Makhtumkuli-Fraghi.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan, the head of the Svyatoshinsky district administration of Kiev S. Pavlovsky and the head of the culture department O. Ilyuk, general director of the National Library of Ukraine for children A. Gordienko, employees of the Makhtumkuli library, writers, cultural workers, students and teachers of local schools, Turkmen and Ukrainian students.
The participants of the event spoke about the significance of the poetic heritage of Makhtumkuli, which went beyond the national framework, which has become an integral part of world literature, a worthy contribution to the intellectual treasury of mankind, who made great innovations in the Turkmen literature of the 18th century.
During the cultural part of the event, vocal and instrumental compositions to the words of Makhtumkuli in Ukrainian and Turkmen languages were performed; poems by Makhtumkuli-Fraghi and Ukrainian poets were recited.
