Sport tournaments dedicated to the World Health Day were held in Romania
On April 8, 2021, the Embassy of Turkmenistan to Romania in collaboration with the Politechnical University of Bucharest organized tournaments on mini football and table-tennis. Competitions were timed to the World Health Day, to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and to the announcement of 2021 as the year “Turkmenistan – Homeland of Peace and Trust”.
Turkmen students, studying in Bucharest’s higher educational institutions, as well as Romanian and foreign students of the Politechnical University took part in the competitions.
At the opening ceremony, welcoming speeches were made by the Rector of the Politechnical University of Bucharest Mihnea Costoiu and by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan A.Annaev, who noted the importance of sports as the means to bring peoples closer together and establish peace and friendship.
At the end of the competition, the ceremony of awarding the winners and prize-winners of the tournament in both sports was held. All prize-winners and winners of the tournaments were presented with memorable gifts.
At the outcome of the event, a Festive table of Turkmen national dishes was organized.
