An online conference in the field of transport and logistics in the Caspian region dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan has been held

On November 19, 2020, with the assistance of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) and the Agency for International Relations of the Astrakhan region, an online conference entitled "The role of positive neutrality of Turkmenistan in ensuring sustainable development of the transport and logistics sector in the Caspian region" was held.

The event was attended by the representatives of state bodies in the field of transport, business representatives, experts and teaching staff of higher educational institutions, as well as representatives of the media of Turkmenistan and the Astrakhan region.

At the plenary session, the Consul of Turkmenistan G. Garayev and Acting head of the International Relations Agency of the Astrakhan region I. Toropitsyn made the speeches, and a video was shown in honor of the 25th anniversary of the neutrality of Turkmenistan.

The first session was attended by the heads of seaports, the Special Economic Zone "Lotos", transport and logistics centers and representatives of business structures. The participants of the Astrakhan side congratulated their Turkmen colleagues on the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan's neutrality. Also, during the first session, the parties discussed the most important aspects of cooperation, and a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Regional Association of Ship-owners and Forwarders of the Astrakhan Region and the Association "Turkmen Logistics" (Turkmenistan).

The second session was attended by the heads and teaching staff of the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan, the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport named after general-adm. F.M. Apraksin and Astrakhan State Technical University (ASTU). The parties discussed further ways of developing cooperation. Within the framework of the second session, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan and the Caspian Institute of Sea and River Transport named after general-adm. F.M. Apraksin.
